SummaryThe ascorbic acid level rose steadily from 25 days to 55 days after fertilization and then a slight fall was observed. A decrease in enzyme activity was associated with an increase in the ascorbic acid level. The maximum ascorbic acid content was seen when the enzyme activity was lowest in the 55-day-old apple.
