Abstract

The distribution of geochronologic provinces in the reconstructed supercontinent of Laurasia appears vaguely concentric, particularly in the case of the younger half of the total area. There is a suggestion of a coalescence or in situ growth, of roughly equidimensional ancient cratons into an inner ring, with increasingly younger mobile belts for the most part disposed peripherally outward. The youngest province almost completely circumscribes the earlier land mass.
