Abstract
Due to line impedance and high photovoltaic (PV) penetration, the voltage in low voltage distribution network may surpass the limit. Overvoltage in low voltage distribution network can be solved by controlling the active power and reactive power output of PV inverter. With this strategy, the output of PV inverter could be controlled dynamically in accordance with a purpose of local voltage control. The dynamic response module of power reference is the key technology to achieve voltage regulation. At high photovoltaic penetration and low load situation, this strategy could avoid voltage at the end of line surpassing the overvoltage limit. Also, this technique could reduce the amount of discarded light. Meanwhile, at low photovoltaic penetration and high load situation, this strategy can avoid voltage at the end of line off-limit by reactive power injection from PV inverter.
