Abstract

Call-count listening stations were used to survey the distribution and relative abundance of white-tipped doves (Leptotila verreauxi) in south Texas. The species appeared to be abundant in native woodland, citrus groves, and suburban areas of Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy counties. White-tipped doves also were located in isolated tall shrub-forest and riparian forest in rangeland of Zapata, Brooks, Kenedy, and Webb counties.
