Abstract

Distributing characteristic of dynamic pressure field in vortex flowmeter is investigated by using numerical method. The k-e model in turbulence theory and the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technology are used for this numerical calculation. SIMPLE algorithm is taken to solve the discrete control equation. The vortex shedding frequency obtained from numerical calculation is close to the test result,and the error is less than 7%,which proves the effectiveness of the numerical method. On this basis,through the analysis of the distributing characteristic of pressure field in the vortex flow field,the best region for detection of vertex signal is given. Starting with the dynamic change process of vertex in the flow field,the internal mechanism of flow field that incurs the change of pressure field is deeply discussed.
