Abstract

With the development of ultra-high voltage direct-current (UHVDC) transmission technology and the construction of transmission lines, the surrounding electromagnetic environment has attracted the attention of researchers. In the process of designing and constructing UHVDC lines, it is necessary to control the ion current density in a reasonable range, so as to avoid harmful impacts on human health, which means it is very important to measure the ion current density accurately. At present, the voltmeter method is widely used in measuring the ion current density. The disadvantage of this method is that the ion flow data is transmitted through the cable. This will result in long preparation time and low efficiency, which is not suitable for field measurement. In this paper, the principle of distributed measurement system of ion current density and ZigBee wireless transmission technology are studied, and a set of ion current density distribution measurement system under UHVDC transmission lines is developed. It mainly includes the design of Wilson plate, the current measurement device and the development of upper computer software based on wireless sensor network. The result shows that the maximum relative error of the system is less than 3%. It also possesses high accuracy and efficiency, which is practical in field measurement.
