Abstract
This work determines the optimal position of Distributed Generation (DG) to be installed based on the reliability in unbalanced radial distribution system with lateral branches. The loads at different load points are considered to be varying probabilistically obeying Gaussian distribution. IEEE 34 nodes unbalanced system has been considered here and optimal position has been obtained giving priority to some important performance indices, normally considered in reliability studies.
