Abstract
The single longitudinal mode operation of the semiconductor laser is an essential factor to realize large capacity optical fiber communication system. The distributed feedback (DFB) laser is on type of specific laser to revel the stable single longitudinal mode operation. Theoretical analyses for operating characteristics of the DFB laser and other mode selective lasers are given.
