Abstract

AbstractIn our study, we analysed how to achieve consensus on the condition of distributed environment for a set of high-order discrete multi-agent models. Suppose the system is critically unstable and the undirected network which we analysed is under a time-varying communication delay. Through researching the union effects of network topology, communication delay and agent dynamics, we get the allowable delay bound which could be used to assure consensus. As a special case, if all poles of agent dynamics are located at the complex plane of \(z=1\), consensus can be achieved for any bounded delay. Finally, a simulation result is presented to validate the feasibility of the obtained theoretical results.KeywordsUndirected graphMulti-agent systemsConsensus protocolCommunication delay
