Abstract

Abstract The paper presents the design and operation principles of the distributed adaptive load shedding scheme. In addition, consideration is given to the algorithms for the adjustment of adaptive control actions performed by this scheme to ensure transient stability of an electric power system and eliminate overcurrent in the network components. Based on the complexity of the defended system structure as well as the need to enhance the adaptability of the algorithms, the research suggests refusing to use the conventional “behavior confirmation” principle in favor of the improvement in an intelligence level of the automation.
