Abstract

This study was analyzed the occurrence and spatial distribution of the employed women in family agriculture in the Northeast of Brazil. This study showed a scenery of employed women by applying Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis (ESDA). The ESDA technique allowed evaluating the correlation between the municipalities with their neighbors. The Agricultural Census data were analyzed in 2006. The results showed that only 32% of people employed in family agriculture are women. The regions that showed greater representation for women were located in the Center South Bahia, Piaui Southeast, Paraiba Agreste and Sertoes Ceara.
