Abstract

SynopsisElectron capture from noble gases (He, Ne and Ar) are investigated in the framework of the quantum-mechanical distorted wave model. In this model, we use an independent electron model taking particular care of the representation of the bound and continuum target states. The results for partial and total capture cross sections are compared with other theoretical calculations and experimental data. The present results are found to be in very good agreement with the available experimental findings.
