Abstract

Administration of the required symptomatic and palliative care in oncology allows not only to provide a higher quality of life for patients, but also to some extent improve oncological results. This review article provides an analysis of data on the incidence and main mechanisms of athogenesis of various types of emetogenic toxicity in patients receiving anticancer treatment, provides an overview of existing recommendations for the prevention of nausea and vomiting, and discusses some practical aspects of antiemetic treatment. In addition, this article discusses the main algorithms for the treatment of chronic pain in oncology, analyzes some aspects of the use of analgesics in clinical practice, taking into account current recommendations, and provides examples of interventional analgesic techniques.
