Abstract

Charging along: DNA-mediated charge transport across adenine tracts is monitored by using a probe interior to the bridge (N6-cyclopropyladenine (CPA), shown in red). This trap was incorporated serially across the bridge and could be oxidized by a distal rhodium photooxidant without significant attenuation in yield over a distance of 5 nm. These results are consistent with complete delocalization of charge across the DNA bridge.
