Abstract

Distal triceps tendon ruptures are uncommon; they account for less than 1% of all tendinous injuries in the upper extremity.16 Most are the result of a fall onto an outstretched hand or, less commonly, a direct blow to the tendon.1–4,6–8,10,11,13–17 Only two such injuries have been described in the skeletally immature population.13,17 We present a case of distal triceps tendon rupture and surgical repair in an otherwise healthy 12-year-old skeletally immature boy.
