Abstract

Two-electron processes in the ionisation of D 2 have been studied using the dissociative ionisation process. The dissociative ionisation cross section is compared with that for non-dissociative ionisation and the ratio of the cross sections is shown to depend on the projectile charge and velocity in accordance with the semi-empirical law suggested in an earlier work.
