Abstract

The energy and angular distribution of secondary oxygen ions produced in He+-O2 collisions has been investigated within the energy range 3-25 keV. Dissociative charge transfer processes dominate and involve many exoergic and endoergic channels. Cross sections for capture into the c 4 Sigma u- and B 2 Sigma g- predissociating states of O2+ have been separately determined. Angular distributions of the fragment ions exhibit anisotropies characteristic of momentum transfer and short predissociation lifetimes.
