Abstract
ABSTRACT This article describes the case studies of two inmates detained in a maximum security prison, seen in individual therapy, having been diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder. The treatment is ongoing, is as successful as can be gauged by mid-treatment, the prognosis excellent. The practicality and rewards of working with such individuals is accentuated and it is emphasized that specific, targeted felons can be remediated. The imprisonment of felons having diagnosable and remediable difficulties has become, along with an exponentially increasing prison population, a national health problem. The following two case studies are presented as a message of hope amidst a plethora of negativity as regards recidivism and the dangerousness of certain offenders
