Abstract

In contrast with recent claims, the concept of dissociative electron transfer is not incompatible with the principle of microscopic reversibility. The reasons why it is so are discussed briefly. Interactions between product fragments may exist but are not a consequence of the principle of microscopic reversibility. They rather depend on the molecular structure and solvent.
