Abstract

This dissertation presents a research of one-way hash functions on digital cash and electronic votes. All schemes presented in this dissertation were already published in famous journals or conferences. In this dissertation, methods are proposed to hide information in plaintext message or attach specific information to electronic cash and electronic vote. Not only the proposed schemes preserve the anonymity of payers or voters, but also they can be easily implemented on the electronic cash or electronic voting schemes in the literature without affecting their infrastructures. Most important of all, the extra overhead of most of the proposed methods is just several operations of hashing.
