Abstract
Hyperimmunoglobulin E syndrome (HIES) has been described as a primary immunodeficiency and multisystem disorder characterized by elevated serum IgE levels, recurrent skin abscesses, pulmonary infections, eczematous dermatitis, skeletal and dental abnormalities. In addition, severe recurrent fungal and viral infections including mucocutaneous candidiasis, molluscum contagiosum, herpes zoster and herpes simplex were noted in some patients.
