Abstract

A 58-year-old man, with acute myeloid leukaemia, had undergone matched-unrelated donor haemopoietic stem-cell transplantation a month before, and was hospitalised having not engrafted, with an Enterobacter cloacae bacteraemia. During hospitalisation, he developed multiple nodular skin lesions. His blood pressure was 154/94 mm Hg, pulse was 65 beats per min, temperature was 36·7°C, and respirations were 20 breaths per min. He had multiple erythematous mildly tender nodules on his abdomen, thorax, and extremities (figure, A).
