Abstract
The discovery of a case of disseminated anergic cutaneous leishmaniasis endogenous to Texas and the Mexican states of Tamaulipas and Nuevo Leon is of epidemiologic importance. An acquired or genetically determined defect in the immune or inflammatory systems of the patients who develop this rare form of leishmaniasis is postulated. No initial clinical response was obtained from treatment with cycloguanil pamoate (Camolar).
