Abstract

We propose a Disruption Aware Routing and link Scheduling (DARS) scheme for multi-hop cognitive radio networks. The objective is to minimize disruptions to secondary user communication sessions due to channel switching and the resource consumption. We formulate the problem into an optimization problem and develop an efficient algorithm to solve the problem. The main idea is to monitor the data rate change of each communication session and then decide whether or not to change the routing and link scheduling. This eliminates unnecessary channel switching for secondary users. Simulation results demonstrate that DARS effectively reduces channel switching and disruptions to communication sessions.
