Abstract

The first day of classes at a Faculty of Education is, in many respects, similar to the first day of school in any other educational environment. There is a palpable energy in the building as a new school year promises new opportunities for all involved. Teacher candidates rush through unfamiliar corridors to find their classes and meet their professors for the first time. In anticipation of a new beginning, many professors sleep just a little bit more fitfully the night before, particularly those who used to be elementary or secondary school teachers and have experienced some anxiety before school begins for many years.
