Abstract

The methods of decision making of the disposal of the post acute cerebral vascular accident patients are investigated as well as the ultimate destination or placement of these patients. Four large general hospitals were selected for inclusion in the survey and all medical records on cerebral vascular accident patients admitted during 1977 were studied. The data were analysed and questions posed to highlight areas of concern to personnel currently employed in treatment programmes directed at this patient group.
