Abstract

Selection of suitable liquid crystal material for designing a electro-optical display device is a challenging problem. The present article deals with the employment of supra moleccular hydrogen bonded liquid crystal complex p-n-alkyloxy benzoic acid (where n = 10) with pimelic acid in fabricating a display device is explored. This presumes the optical properties luminance, luminance uniformity, contrast modulation and contrast ratio. For such investigation, textural analysis was employed with matlab platform. Information related to the suitability of the mesogens for designing the display devices with the help of their textures. The results obtained in the current study, indicates that supra molecular hydrogen bonded liquid crystal complex p-n-alkyloxy benzoic acid(where n = 10) with pimelic acid (PA:10OBA) shows highly suitable for fabrication of opto-electronic display devices.
