Abstract

Processing accelerogram data from the 2014 M=8.2 Iquique earthquake and an M=7.7 aftershock gives estimates of computed sliding displacements that are very close to those derived from sets of records from three Chilean earthquakes with M=7.8,7.7,and 8.2 and confirmed by records from the Chi Chi (M=7.6) and Northridge (M=6.7) earthquakes. This supports the accuracy and robustness of the basic log-linear model.
