Abstract
The paper presents the statistical behaviour of concentration distribution of a reactive solute injected in a laminar flow through a tubular reactor with first-order heterogeneous chemical reaction at the wall. A finite-difference implicit scheme is adopted to solve the Aris-moment equations for all time. The deviations from Gaussianity are examined by means of skewness and kurtosis. Mean concentration distributions have also been calculated from central moments using Hermite polynomials.
