Abstract

A simple method to disperse nano-Au suspension on solid substrates by pulsed jet nanoelectrospraying was introduced. By electrohydrodynamic atomization (EHDA), suspension jet containing Au nanoparticles was generated and different morphologies of relics were formed on Si substrates by the jetting. Due to surface charges induced in the EHDA and Coulomb fission from Rayleigh instability, well-dispersed Au clusters can be produced by controlling spray throughout in both the pulsating and cone-jet modes. It shows that the pulsed jet nES technique has an intrinsic advantage in separation and processing of colloidal nanoparticles.
