Abstract

A dispersion immune and dynamic polarization recovery scheme based on extended Kalman filter (EKF) is proposed for Stokes vector Kramers–Kronig (SVKK) receiver. In the transmitter, a carrier is aligned at the edge of the data-carrying signal spectrum in one of the two polarizations. In the receiver, the signal detection is implemented based on Stokes vector receiver (SVR). The proposed dynamic polarization demultiplexing scheme is transparent to modulation formats and can track dynamic polarization rotation up to 30 Mrad/s. Furthermore, the proposed scheme is immune to chromatic dispersion.
