Abstract

Homogeneous dispersion of metal oxide nanoparticles in the aqueous solution is commonly known as nanofluids. Deterioration in the stability of nanofluids is a key concern for extending their application in various areas such as drug delivery, heat transfer, biomedical and lubrication. The stability of nanofluid depends upon various factors such as particle concentration, solution chemistry, particle size, surfactant, and ultrasonication. Visual inspection, zeta potential, particle size distribution and electron microscopies are important factors considered in evaluating the stability of nanofluid. This study has been done to summarize and to highlight the importance of stability on the performance of nanofluid.
