Abstract

The deployment of Dispatchable and Non-dispatchable Distributed Generations (DDG & NDDG) affects Switching Operations (SOs) of Reactive Power Controlled Devices (RPCDs).Curtail of switching operations of RPCDs is possible with appropriate reactive power coordination between DDG, NDDG and RPCDs. This paper proposes a novel method, in which, load and output power of non-dispatchable distributed generation (NDDG) forecast one day in advance using single stage and three stage ANFIS models respectively, which helps in reactive power scheduling. Objective function formulated as a combination of power loss and SOs, Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) algorithm proposed for solving objective function and schedules the reactive power contribution of DDG& RPCDs. Doubly fed Induction generator (DFIG) based wind system is preferred for NDDG, Under Load Tap Changer (ULTC) and Shunt Capacitors (SCs) are preferred for RPCDs. The proposed method designed in MATLAB environment and implemented on 16 buses, 10kvsystem. Simulation results clearly depicts that this method is effectively achieved the goals compared with conventional and particle swarm optimization (PSO) techniques without violating the grid conditions.
