Abstract

Objective: In 2010, the ACA was passed to help increase access to healthcare and mandated that certain essential health benefits be met by insurance plans. On August 1, 2012, these health benefits became requirements for all insurance plans. The objective of this study was to evaluate if surgical management patterns for uterine leiomyomata, specifically in African American females, changed after institution of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
