Abstract

AbstractWe study the influence of positional disorder on the optical properties of metallic photonic crystals. Two disorder models are implemented, namely frozen‐phonon disorder and long‐range disorder. We calculate the two‐point correlation functions, analyze the Fourier transforms of the spatial arrangements, and present experimental extinction spectra of the different disordered photonic crystals.
