Abstract

The problem of the spread of paranormal discourse in Russia in the late 1980s early 1990s is considered. Referring to the diary entries of contemporaries, the author identifies the main components of the paranormal discourse and the reaction to it. Paranormal phenomena in the perception of Perestroika contemporaries are considered as part of the general cultural background during the global transformation and often include eschatological components.
