Abstract

Abstract This chapter focuses on the epidemiology, symptoms and management (mainly through chemical and cultural methods, and host resistance) of the following diseases of peach induced by bacteria (bacterial canker complex caused by Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae and P. syringae pv. persicae, bacterial spot caused by Xanthomonas arboricola pv. pruni, crown gall caused by Agrobacterium tumefaciens, and phony peach disease caused by Xylella fastidiosa) and phytoplasmas ['Candidatus Phytoplasma'] (peach X-disease, peach yellows, peach rosette, peach yellow leaf roll, and European stone fruit yellows).
