Abstract

Years of economic crises, wars, and environmental disasters have resulted in escalating outbreaks of infectious diseases in countries that are ill-equipped to deal with such public health emergencies. Following the devastating floods in Pakistan in June, 2022, there has been a huge and rapid increase in cases of malaria and dengue. And a fast-spreading cholera outbreak is ongoing in war-torn Syria and, for the first time in 30 years, in Lebanon.
