Abstract

An aerodynamics/electromagnetics bidisciplinary optimization method, which is the key technique to realize the integral design of aerodynamic/stealthy performances, is discussed. The flow field and the electromagnetic field are given by an Euler solver and a time domain Maxwell equations solver, respectively. The radar cross section (RCS) is then evaluated with the equivalence principle and Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT). The multilevel optimization method (MLO) and linearly combined weighted object optimization method (LWO) are mainly investigated and applied to the aerodynamic/stealthy optimal design. For reducing the requirement of the experience to determining the weighted coefficient distribution, an auto-adjusted weighted object optimization method (AWO) is proposed in the present paper. Numerical examples show that the optimized performance is improved significantly compared to the original one. The effectiveness and robustness are also demonstrated.
