Abstract

Based on the equation analysis method and theorem dimensional analysis, the scaling rules between field tests and mode tests for embedded suction anchors have been investigated. Some critical parameters affecting the characteristics of anchor penetration and capacity are studied in detail. It is illustrated that although adopting non-normal scale because of using prototype of soil and water in model tests, the model tests could reflect the qualitative nature in field tests through adjusting some critical scale factors.
