Abstract

Klug et al report on an innovative technique for application of titanium membranes in conjunction with mandibular alveolar distraction osteogenesis documented by histology and computed tomography (CT) scans in humans. Alveolar distraction techniques have gained wider acceptance and increased clinical applications with the advantages of avoidance of bone grafting and potential donor site morbidity.
