Abstract

The paper (Choi et al., 2015) shows the influence of the offshore wave field (frequency-directional spectra) on the nearshore circulation, particularly on the longshore current. In contrast to usual approaches, the numerical simulations are here carried out using a phase resolving model: the fully non-linear Boussinesq-type model FUNWAVE. Because the wave height plays a relevant role in the problem, I find that it could be of interest the following discussion, which has to do with the linear shoaling error of Boussinesq equations.
