Abstract

This is a discussion of a paper by M.D. Bolton and W. Powrie (1987), published in Geotechnique, volume 37, No. 3, pages 335-353. The discusser, M.P. O'Reilly, makes suggestions regarding pore pressure transducers and their associated cables that will concentrate stresses and initiate ruptures. The author then makes his reply.
