Abstract

The article by Aoshima and Yata considers two-stage procedures to construct fixed-size confidence regions and to select variables in high-dimensional models with a bounded number of nonzero parameters. In this discussion, we describe some recent work on alternative variable selection methods and fixed-width confidence intervals in high-dimensional sparse regression models.
