Abstract

With the worldwide sharing and exchange of medical knowledge, English language teach-ing in medical schools is more and more important. This study is based on the 2004 general clinics students and it aims at exploring a new model of English language teaching in medical schools according to the char-acteristics of medical students by the way of interviews, questionnaires and class observations. This re-search intends to improve the student's English ability and to build a five-year continuous English learning model with the college English as the major part, medical English reading and clinical English practicing as the subordinates in the medical schools.
