Abstract

In recent years, urban waterlogging has become a stubborn disease in major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, and Xi’an. The city’s sea view is mainly due to the extreme torrential rain that exceeds the urban design and drainage capacity. Therefore, in view of the problem of domestic rains and inland “Seeing the sea”, this paper takes the typical heavy rain in Wuhan as an example. The typical rainstorm frequency analysis methods in the municipal department and the water conservancy department are using to measure rainstorm under different sampling conditions. The design frequencies of different grades rainstorm has been analyzed in municipal and water conservancy systems. While that is expected to definite the design frequency of different grades of heavy rain in municipal and water conservancy systems from the quantitative level. The matching relationship is expected between the rainstorm frequency analysis results of the two methods, which provide data support for the design standards of flood control and drainage in the construction of sponge cities.
