Abstract

Abstract Academician S. G. Strumilin spoke about the technique of international comparisons. Having indicated that the choice of the most appropriate indices for characterizing the course of economic development is of great significance, he noted that some economists regard indices of labor productivity as being of prime importance, while others insist on per capita output indices. These indices do not exclude each other, But if it is a question of the basic index, then the labor productivity index is more significant than the per capita output index, since, as V. I. Lenin pointed out, labor productivity is the chief factor in the victory of the new social system.
