Abstract

Through body part terms, the views of cognitive linguistics about the relationship between the form and the meaning of sign language were discussed in this paper. At first, there is no any difference in the common principle of structuralization between sign language and spoken language. Secondly, according to the principle of structuralization for sign language and spoken language, the two of them were connected and the form applied with materialization could be different, so the inter-linguistic difference exists. Thirdly, the relationship between the structure and meaning of sign language was motivated based on the cognitive filter of human beings.` Then, for sign language, performed by the body language, the performance form of inner and external parts were common in the cognitive pattern and other cognitive processings.
