Abstract

In your measurements you use the heat energy to maintain a constant skin temperature of 43°C. The variation of the heat energy depends only on the change in local skin temperature. If you observe no changes in this temperature, you may conclude that little or no changes in regional blood flow are occurring. However, if there are changes in temperature, they need not necessarily reflect changes in blood flow while this skin temperature is affected by more than the single factor of blood flow.
