Abstract

Nature-inspired algorithms are modern tools to deal with nonlinear challenging optimization problems that are relevant in computer science, data mining, machine learning, medicine, engineering, and real-world applications. These methods are computer algorithms inspired by the behavior and characteristics of natural and biological systems in nature. In the last few decades, many different algorithms were developed, and it is estimated that there may be more than 100 different algorithms and variants. Thus, it is difficult to produce a complete list of all the relevant developments in this research area. For example, Fister et al.
